Funny Differences Between Your First and Second Kid and Third Kid
As the mom of a 7 year old and an infant, I can definitely say that there is a big difference in the way I parented my first child compared to my second, especially because of their age difference. With my daughter, I would possibly consider myself overbearing looking back. Things had to be done a certain way, everything was organized; I was pretty much a normal, neurotic first-time mom. I even kept a journal when she started eating baby food that documented every wacky reaction or poop that resulted from different foods. Now with my son, I have learned to stop picking at every detail and to relax and enjoy him because it goes too fast! I am glad that one of my favorite brands of diapers, LUVS, is paying a comical tribute to all of the moms of more than one child with a new series of videos. Here is one that all the breast-feeding moms can relate to:
Seems about right, doesn't it? My favorite video in the series is "Park" because I feel like the mom in the video is me! I was "that mom" who had to have a packed diaper bag everywhere I went – even if it was a 5 minute trip to the store – just because I felt like something disastrous would happen if I didn't stock up on 10 diapers, 8 bottles, and 5 extra pairs of clothes for that 5 minutes. Now I bring a bottle, a diaper, and wipes for anything that will last less than an hour.
